Yes, you may apply to the DBIC program on an individual basis. Please fill out the online application form and send us an email at email@example.com indicating “Individual Applicant” in the subject line that includes your full name, university, class level, and program date.
2. How do I apply for a visa?
After you have been officially accepted into the DBIC program, the DBIC staff will send an official visa invitation letter that you may use to apply for a tourist visa “L” at your country/region’s Chinese embassy or consulate. Please keep in mind that visa processing times vary, so we advise that participants apply for their visa immediately upon receiving the visa invitation letter. In addition, please check with the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate for the required materials and visa regulations.
3. What do the program costs cover?
The program costs cover twin room hotel accommodation for the entire program, transportation costs (including transportation to class, company visits, and cultural trips), some meals, and cultural trips. Please refer to your invoice for exact costs.
4. How can I pay for the DBIC program?
Payment for the DBIC program must be made through WIRE TRANSFER. The account details are outlined on the invoice and should be followed exactly in order to prevent any complications. After a wire transfer payment is made, please email firstname.lastname@example.org a scanned copy of the transfer for our records and keep the original for your own records.
5. When should I arrive to Beijing?
Please arrive the day before classes start (typically classes start on Monday). Please keep in mind that it typically takes at least an hour to get to the hotel from the airport, so book your flight accordingly.
6. Can I extend my hotel stay ?
You may request to extend your hotel stay by filling out the hotel extension request at least 3-4 weeks before the start of the program. You may obtain this form by emailing email@example.com. However, the DBIC program does not guarantee hotel accommodation outside of the program dates. Please note that you will be responsible for all additional costs for the hotel stay.
7. What is the dress code for the program?
The dress code for attending classes and on company visits is business casual. However, during cultural tours, please dress comfortably.
8. What if I have special dietary needs?
If you have special dietary needs, please contact our office as soon as possible, so that we can make the appropriate arrangements. We are able to accommodate the majority of dietary requirements.
9. What if I have special medical needs and/or allergies?
If you have special medical needs and/or allergies, please let our office know, so that we can make the appropriate arrangements. If you have moderate to severe asthma, we do not advise you to participate in the program.
